Mother + Daughter = Best Friends

"Mama you're my best friend" I love hearing these words from my mini me. Having a daughter is just the best! Sarah and I look very much alike yet she's her own little person. This little girl is full of spunk and sass. I mean just look at the face she made when her daddy asked her to smile...
She's your typical girlie girl. She loves to dress up. If it were up to her she'd be wearing dresses and headbands everyday of the week. A couple weeks ago Sarah and I received some goodies from Joules. I had never heard of the brand before and when I came upon their website I fell in LOVE with their beautiful prints + colors. Sarah received this beautiful dress...
It's even prettier in person. This is a thick corduroy dress and it's perfect for this time of year. You can tell this dress is high quality and well worth the price. I love that it has pockets! Don't you just love dresses with pockets? I do!
Little miss Sarah loved twirling in her pretty new dress...
I received this gorgeous navy printed top...
I LOVE it! The neckline is perfect and the material is high quality. I can tell this top will last for a very LONG time and even though it's a dark navy color it won't fade. I wore it with a pencil skirt to church this past weekend and Sarah and I had a mini photo shoot.
Thanks Joules for our lovely new clothes! You made my BFF and I very happy :)
Now I don't like to spend more than $10 on a top so these clothes are a little out of my price range but they are such high quality that it's totally worth it to splurge! It's nice to treat yourself once in a while am I right? Well guess what? Joules is having an up to 50% off sale...
If you see something you like I say BUY IT NOW while it's on Sale!
These clothes are unique and very high quality, very worth it!

DIY Sharpie Mugs

If you have a pinterest account chances are you've seen these all over! I am probably one of the last people to board the sharpie mug diy train. After I had Levi I stopped crafting. Having a newborn on top of two kiddos is exhausting and left me with no time or energy to do anything crafty. Well it's been almost a year (ahh my baby is turning one!) and I FINALY feel like I'm getting back to my crafty self.

Now I'm sure you don't even need a tutorial for this, I mean there's already TONS on pinterest but I though I would write one on my blog anyway just because. This is a super easy, cheap and fun craft to do so if you're like me and you've been wanting to try this, then do it! These mugs make great gifts! Here's what you will need...
I got my white mugs at IKEA but you can find some at your local dollar store and those will work just fine. I decided to use gold sharpies for my mugs. I LOVE polka dots, so I wanted one of my mugs to be polka dotted. Dots are pretty easy to draw and it's ok if they're not perfect, they still look cute...
Once you finish your mugs you just pop em in the oven at 350°F for 30 mins and you are all set! Easy Peasy! I made a total of FOUR mugs...
Three of them are gifts and one I made for myself. Can you guess which one is mine? ;)

Have you made a sharpie mug?

Five on Friday - Projects, Sewing + Giveaways

ONE // December Projects
The farmhouse table is DONE! I LOVE it! It's just like I imagined it. I posted pictures from when my husband began working on it on instagram. Now that it's done, we are moving on to December project #2. You can search #decemberprojects on instagram to look through our updates. Project #2 is the blue wall you see up there. I can't wait to show you what it's gonna be! I've got a couple more projects I'd like to do but as long as we (my husband) finish these two I will be more than satisfied.

TWO // Chairs

There are the chairs I want for our new table. My husband wants to build a bench so I'm thinking we will only need 4 of these. At $50 each that would be $200 + tax. Not bad but not cheap either. Does anyone want to donate $ to help buy a chair? lol So while we save up some mulah I went to Ikea to buy Levi a highchair and I found these in the AS IS section (I love this section!)...
At $8.90 each I'd say that this is a good temporary solution. They actually look very nice with the new table but I still want the sturdy wood ones. These will be perfect for when we've got company and need extra chairs but for now they are sitting pretty next to our table.

THREE // Sewing
My friend Julie came over yesterday and we sewed some pillow covers. I hadn't sewed in a while! I think the last thing I sewed were these burp cloths for Levi. I will share photos and write a post on our pillow covers sometime next week.

FOUR // Boots
I got these boots for Sarah on Zulily and I love them! I wish I had them in my size lol My little fashionista loves them too. We actually got them a while back but they fit her kinda big. They still fit her a tad bit big but not too much. Zulily has the cutest shoes. I have gotten Sarah a couple of our favorites from Zulily. If you haven't signed up yet sign up through me HERE! :)

FIVE // Giveaways
If you haven't already make sure to enter the $100 Cash Giveaway here on my blog. We've got tons of entries already! So exciting! Giveaway ends this Sunday and the winner will be receiving their money on Monday.

Guest Post - Ashlyn's Banana Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Muffins

Happy Wednesday!
I feel like these days are going by a little TOO fast. Maybe it's because my hubby is home and I'm trying to take advantage and complete as many projects as we can do before he goes back to work. So we have been busy busy around here. I can't wait to share everything with you all!

Also I'm SO EXCITED about the cash giveaway I posted yesterday. We have been getting lots of entries which is awesome! I wish I could give $100 cash to all of you! That would be awesome but then we'd be broke lol.

One of the lovely ladies who is part of the giveaway is Ashlyn. She's one of my sponsors this month. I am SO GLAD Ashlyn and I found each other on blogland. She hasn't been blogging for very long but you wouldn't tell by her content and her beautiful photographs. She's sweet, genuine and the kind of person you would love to have next door! I am so excited to have her on my blog today sharing one of her yummy recipes.

         * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Hello new friends! I am so happy to be guest posting here on Cinsarah. Did y'all hear she has her husband working on a farmhouse table? I am so excited to see the reveal! Not like I keep checking her Instagram feed at all...

I'm Ashlyn and I blog over at Here is Motherhood. My hope is that my writing gives some encouragement and inspiration to women who are in the thick of motherhood. With that being said, you don't have to be a mom to read my blog! Although I really enjoy writing deep and thoughtful posts, I like to keep it fun with beauty reviews and yummy recipes (especially chocolate ones). So, moving right along with that chocolate theme- I have my good 'ol standby muffin recipe for you today! I've tried other muffin recipes, but they just don't compare. It must be the chocolate, I don't know. I originally made up this recipe when I was in university and since then have adapted it, giving it a few tweaks along the way. I think at one point I had sour cream in the mix- which made the muffins wonderfully tender- but come on now, I don't have room for those extra calories anymore! I really hope you give this one a try, I am pretty sure you will love it.

Ashlyn's Banana Oatmeal Chocolate Chips Muffins (wow, that's a mouthful...)

3/4 cup butter
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
3 ripe bananas
1 cup oatmeal
2 cups flour
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 cup chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large mixing bowl cream together butter and sugar. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Mash bananas, then add to mixture and mix well. Stir in dry ingredients. Add chocolate chips. Spoon into greased or lined muffins tins, filling about 3/4 full. Bake for 18-20 minutes.

Sidenote: For a healthier recipe, you may add 1/4 cup of ground flaxseed to the mixture and/or reduce butter to 1/2 cup. Enjoy!

Five on Friday - Smoothies, Free Giftcards + In-N-Out

I've got a couple things to share with you all today, so let's begin...

ONE// Farmhouse Table
Ok so remember when I shared here that my husband has the whole week of December off and how I had a list of projects for him to do? Well he's ALMOST done with the first one guys and it's only been a week! I LOVE that man! lol So he's been wanting a playstation for a while now and he was about to buy it but then I talked him out of it and told him he should buy tools so he could build stuff for the house instead. I can't believe it worked! He's been working in the garage ALL week! I think our table will be ready and assembled by Sunday. Now I need to find some chairs.

TWO// Smoothies
This is what my husband and I have been having for breakfast each morning.
The smoothie on the left is what we usually have which is:
-vanilla whey protein
-chia seeds
-almond milk

The one on the right is what we had today:
-vanilla why protein
-chia seeds
-almond milk
We are both trying to loose weight and eat healthy. So far we are doing great! He lost about 3lbs this week and I lost 3lbs as well. I hope we don't gain it back this weekend.

THREE// Ebates
I discovered Ebates a couple weeks ago. I can't believe I hadn't heard of it until now! I mean this is perfect for online shoppers like me! You basically get a percentage back for shopping online. You get money back for something you already do! For instance say you're gonna shop for a new pair of jeans at Gap. All you do is go to Ebatessearch for Gap and see what percentage back you will get. Then click on the link and it directs you to Gap. It will track your purchase and whatever you end up spending you will get a percentage back. I've done some online shopping and here's what I will be getting back for doing something I was already gonna do...
You get a $10 giftcard to the store of your choice when you sign up and make a purchase using their links. I did and I got my giftcard yesterday!! Of course I chose Target!

If you haven't signed up yet SIGN UP HERE I get $ for referring you and you get a $10 giftcard! WIN-WIN! Plus I would LOVE you forever :)

FOUR// In-N-Out
I DON'T like it! There I've said it.
I'm sure some of you are GASPING right now. I know LOTS of people really like it. I see it all over Instagram and such but I just DON'T GET IT. It's not good. I tried! I REALLY tried to like it. I mean it's pretty to take pictures of and it looks cool but it doesn't taste good. I tried it twice in Fort Worth and now that they opened one nearby I thought I would give the "animal style" thing a try and I disliked it even more.

Here's what I think:
-The fries taste like NOTHING. I felt like I was eating cardboard. They're not crunchy like fries should be. Even when I asked for "well done" fries they were just blah.
McDonald's fries are better and I don't even like McDonald's.
-The bun is spongy.. in a bad way.
-The sauce is nasty.
-The meat is just average.

You want to know the ONLY thing I liked about In-N-Out? Their Sweet Tea. lol
Overall I'm dissapointed. I will not be going back to In-N-Out. I VERY MUCH prefer Whataburger.
Don't hate me!!

FIVE// Giveaway
My sponsors, bloggy friends + I have an AMAZING giveaway for you all next week so stay tuned!
If you would like to be a part of this AWESOME giveaway I do have just TWO spots available so e-mail me TODAY (friday) for more info.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend + stay warm!

DIY Metallic Glass Vases

If you follow me on instagram then you got to see a little sneak peek of my friend Julie and I working on these pretties. I mentioned in a previous post on how I finally convinced my friend Julie to start up her own blog and how we are gonna be getting together to craft and post about it on our blogs. Well her blog design is up and she's gonna begin posting VERY soon so go check out her blog and give her a follow... trust me you will LOVE her!

Ok so on to today's post. Julie pinned this DIY on pinterest a while back and well I don't have a link to it you guys cause we couldn't find it. But it's SUPER easy to do. They're meant to look wet and such like the ones above. They're not meant to be perfect which is awesome because you don't have to stress about them coming out perfect.

PLEASE excuse the grainy pics. I completely forgot to take my camera and we ended up using my phone for these photos.

What you do is just get something you'd like to spray paint. We used these empty gallon glass jugs that once held apple juice...
Make sure you clean your vase, jug or whatever you are using really well. Then you mix a little bit of soap and lots of water into a spray bottle and spray your jug lightly...
once your jug/vase/jar is wet you can spray paint it. We used Krylon's Looking Glass Mirror-Like Paint which Julie bought from Wal-Mart. Here's Julie going at it. She's a spray paint ninja...
and the spray paint newbie (me)...
We actually spray painted two jugs and two wine bottles and then we ran out of paint.
I love them! Here is Julie's jug displayed at her house...
I didn't take one of mine because I haven't found a permanent home for it yet.
Pretty easy huh? I had so much fun crafting over at Julie's! She's coming over next week and we are planning to craft another project or two so stay tuned!
UPDATE: You can find a MORE DETAILED tutorial on Julie's blog HERE.

The Thinkery

This past Sunday we took the kids to the Grand Opening of The Thinkery which is the new Children's Museum in Austin. We absolutely LOVED it. The old museum was small, had no parking and was a little stinky if you ask me. lol This new museum is AWESOME. It's two stories tall. It's modern and has TONS of cool stuff for kids to do. This picture above is the view from the second story.

The kids got to meet Clifford, HEB buddy + Curious George at the grand opening...
There's this awesome water section in the second floor where kids can put on some crocs and aprons because they end up getting a little wet while playing...
I took TONS of pictures but narrowed it down to just these because I got lazy editing and uploading them. You can view a couple more that I posted on Instagram.

If you don't already follow me on instagram then you might want to cause I'll be posting little sneak peeks of projects my hubby and I are working on. Ok it's mostly him but I've got some design input ;)
