How to Add a Border to Your Blog (Blogger)

I recently made yet another change to my blog design! My blog went from this:

To this:

I just wanted something a little more simple and easy on the eyes 

since my header is already a little crazy! :)

So do you want to know how to add a border to your blog? 

It doesn't have to be solid, you can do a double border like

I have on my blog design business or dotted or even dashed. 

First go to Design>Edit HTML

Hit Command + F (for Mac users like myself) or Control + F (for PC Users)

then find this section of your HTML:  .content-outer

Paste this code underneath:

border: 5px solid #ffffff;

Change Size of Border: replace the 5 for a different number 

Change Border Style: replace solid for any of these: dotted, dashed, double

Change Color: replace the #ffffff to any color code to match 

You can find a color code in this website 

Make sure to preview before saving your template! 

Once you are happy with your look go ahead and save.

Kitchen Updates

**If you want to see what my kitchen looked like before please see my first post & this post too**

Like I mentioned in my previous post we went to Ikea this past weekend and finally got some hardware for our cabinet doors. The heavy doors were getting a little hard to open without handles and the cabinets were starting to gather fingerprint stains on them. Plus Ikea had that whole spend more than $100, eat for free deal so we took the chance and went ahead and bought them.

These were our new cabinets without hardware:

We chose Ikea's METRIK handles and love them...

We really want to go to Chicago this summer for our church conference so we put a stop 

on the kitchen remodel for now until we come back so we can save enough money to go.

 All we have left to do in the kitchen is the backsplash, the can lighting & new appliances.

Expect the complete Kitchen Reveal before the year ends... hopefully! lol

We have been thinking about white subway tile for our backsplash

and I played around a little on photoshop and this is what I came up with:

I'll have to show this to my husband to see what he thinks but I like it, the lighting is a bit

off in this picture but what do you think? Should we go for it?

Also a couple weeks back we replaced these ugly "meanwhile" window treatments..

To faux wood blinds....

We had cheap blinds before and they were all mismatched in color, two of them were 

white and one of them was off-white. We really wanted real wood blinds but we have three

 of these windows in our kitchen and they would have been way more expensive than the 

faux wood ones we bought. I would really like to add some type of window valances on top 

so they won't look too white and plain. Another project to add to the to-do list!

During our Ikea trip we also bought new panels for our dinning room.

We liked the HENNY panels and thought they would add some

color and life into this boring room:

What do you think? I'm still not completely in love with them 

but they are better than the ugly brown ones we had.
