I finally used my new sewing machine this week! I got a new sewing machine as a birthday present from my parents and my sister a couple weeks ago but I didn'thave a desk to set it on so I hadn't used it until I found a desk last week! I have been wanting to make a simple skirt for my little princess since I saw this post by Lindsay at Southern Lovely. She used Made's tutorial for a simple skirt. I love Made, I have actually been to this site before and now it's one of my favorite sewing blogs. I used this same tutorial to make this skirt except I cut the waistband elastic a bit short and the skirt ended up being too tight for Sarah so I thought I would make it into a drawstring skirt so she could even wear it next summer! I just cut a hole, took off the elastic and made a string from the same fabric the same way I made the ties for the polka dotted top I made a while back. So here is my little model modeling her new skirt...
and here is a full shot of her...
This was seriously very easy to sew! I can't wait to make
more for her! especially for next summer!
what a cutie. the skirt is very cute too :-)
