It took a while to finally complete this dress but It's finally finished! My daughter is turning two this month and she loves strawberry shortcake so, after seeing this tutorial from Prudent Baby I thought I would buy some fabric and attempt to make a dress for my daughter's birthday.
I used Michael Miller's fabric named Pink Tea Blooms that I purchased on Etsy. All I needed was a sewing machine and a couple supplies. I got my supplies at wal-mart (bias tape, thread & ribbon)
and I got a free sewing machine from one of my husband's aunts. I LOVE FREE THINGS!
I couldn't figure out how to use the sewing machine so ordered a manual online and once I got it figured out I began sewing.
I'm still a sewing novice but would love to one day be one of those talented ladies who sews beautiful dresses for their daughters.

ReplyDeleteThanks Jael! I can't believe I did it, I thought I would end up ruining it lol
ReplyDeleteYou did a beautiful job for a newbie. Once you get hooked, and you will, maybe you would like to make some for charity. I made some for an organization that sends them to little girls in africa and had a blast using my creativity for a good cause. Here's more info in case you are insterested: http://acraftyescape.blogspot.com/2010/07/completed-pillowcase-dresses-for-africa.html
