4th of July Printables
You can use my printables as cupcake toppers or to decorate candy or popcorn bags! :)
We got this yummy popcorn at our local farmers market and I had leftover clear baggies from my daughter's birthday party so I thought this would be perfect for 4th of July! Give them to the kids while watching fireworks or if you are having a party use them to decorate festive cupcakes or candy bags.
Click on the Image and Save to you Computer to Print:
I would love to know if you use my printables and see pictures too!! :)
I made 3 more 4th of July Printables that I will share as a guest post at My World Made by Hand
as part of the Red, White & Blue Roundup! I can't wait to show you so check back here July 4th
and I will post a link to my printables on her blog! :)
BTW I got my awesome stencil I won from Cutting Edge Stencils through PB&J Stories!

and my free quart of free quart of Glidden paint I can't wait to use these!
I plan on stenciling a wall in my dinning room and painting the guest room closet.
When? IDK maybe when I finish catching up with the loads of laundry I have. lol

Vintage Dress Re-Fashion
Here is the dress transformation.....
Here is a pic of me using my awesome seam ripper to take the collar off...
Once it was off I noticed my sewing machine broke :( so I had to sew it back by hand..
I wasn't going to do anything to the sleeves but when I tried it on they didn't button? Either I have huge arms or ladies in the 60's or whenever this dress is from had tiny arms! I'm going with the tiny arms! (I'm in denial of my large arms and no it's not muscle, I wish!) I wore this dress to church this past weekend and forgot to take a picture of me wearing it with my hair all nice and make up on so today I asked my 4 year old son to take a picture of me wearing it and of course I had to crop my face off because my hair was a mess and I had no make up on and didn't feel like doing my make up or fixing my hair up for a picture. Plus the focus should be on the dress not myself lol So here are the awesome pictures my 4 year old son took...
So I shortened the sleeves, took the ruffled collar off and added a belt
to make this vintage dress my own! :) What do you think?

Hudson's on the Bend (Our Anniversary) and Groupon
.... and it was amazing!! So good!! My husband go to try some of it and he loved it so much he even said "your plate is better than mine" and his was good too! For dessert I got the Wild Turtle Pie and my husband got the Peach Cobbler and they were both delicious! I am so happy we went to this little restaurant. It is cozy and romantic and the food is delicious! Our total came out to be $107 for us both but we used our Groupon and only ended up paying $7 plus tip for our nice waiter! We also found out that they catered for the President of Mexico while he was visiting here in Austin and here is a picture of Lance Armstrong's Tour de France shirt they have framed when you go into their restaurant:
If you are in the Austin area or ever are visiting you need to go here! We will definitely keep this restaurant in mind as one of our special occasion restaurants. And if you have never heard of Groupon head over to their site and save some good money! This is our 4th or 5th time using Groupon and we love it!! Click Here to visit Groupon and buy your first Groupon! :)

Homemade Sloppy Joes
Ingredients
1 1/2 lbs ground beef (I used one pound)
1/4 white onion, chopped
Sea Salt & Ground Pepper, to taste
1 cup tomato ketchup
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar (I used cane sugar)
2 tablespoons yellow mustard
whole wheat burger buns
Brown the beef in a nonstick skillet over medium heat, 5—7 minutes. Add onions and season with salt and pepper. Cook until onions soften, about 7 minutes. Add ketchup, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, sugar and mustard. Stir to combine. Simmer until slightly thickened, about 10 minutes. Spoon over split toasted hamburger buns and serve!
I served our sloppy joes with baked fries. It's a simple easy fun summer recipe for you and your family! I will continue using it since I almost always have the ingredients available.

My Little Model
and here is a full shot of her wearing and loving her dress...
Don't you just love her crazy hair? I sure do!! :D
She often gets compliments with her messy hair when we don't put it up
on a ponytail. She just makes messy hair look so cute!
lol maybe it's because it's my daughter but I think so! :)

2 cups red seedless grapes
3 stalks celery, thinly sliced
3/4 cup pecan pieces, toasted
2 cups red seedless grapes
3 stalks celery, thinly sliced
Make a sandwich and enjoy!
My Kids loved this recipe too...
I plan on using this recipe again when we hit the road next month to Chicago. Driving there takes about 18-20 hrs so we do not plan to make many stops and we need easy food to eat on the go! This recipe is delicious, I know they sell it already made at whole foods but it's kinda pricey for me it's cheaper to just make it your self and have tons leftover for the next day! Do you have a chicken salad recipe? I want to make 2 different types of chicken salad to take on our trip since we will be following my family (parents, sister, other sister and brother in law) and I need to make plenty for all of us. So if you have a chicken salad recipe you love would you share it with me? Or maybe some easy road trip snacks or foods?

DIY Pantry Door Chalkboard
I got some painter's blue tape and carefully taped around the edges of the rectangle I wanted
to transform into a chalkboard and sanded away some icky sticky stuff (yes that's the
technical term for it) that was left behind by a stick on hook that broke off a couple years ago...
Then I painted on the first coat...
and it only took two coats to get it to look like this...
When my husband got home he drew our names, a heart and smiley face on it :)
I am loving my new chalkboard, it really is coming in handy!
I wish the door wasn't so textured so I can write on it smoother but it will do.
I have been wanting to spray paint our ugly gold knobs, It is one of the items on the
to-do list and I also plan on beautifying my pantry like Shelly from House of Smith's...
Isn't it beautiful?! I can use my stencil here too!!
Thanks so much for reading and for following me! :)
I love coming back from the weekend and checking my e-mail
and blogger dashboard and finding new followers and sweet comments!
They really make my day!!

Favorites Friday 6.10.11
It's Friday! To be honest with you I don't get as excited as most people when it's friday because
I love my whole week! I am very blessed to be able to be a stay at home mom and enjoy
every single day of the week but I know for those of you who work outside the home,
you look forward to your weekends. So Happy Friday to You! :)
Here are my favorites this week:
I found this blog this week and I love all her projects! I just bought some new
Ikea tan panels at a garage sale for $1 and I want to try this so badly but I don't know
where I would hang them just yet... Anyways if you want to know how to make these
beautiful panels go and check out her blog!
2. I tried this banana bread recipe from A Chelsea Morning and...
LOVED IT! Seriously I think I ate more than half of it by myself! :o!
I've made banana bread once before but it was way to dry and not that sweet.
This one is moist and delicious! I found it by Googling: Grandma's Banana Bread Recipe
because I needed a good recipe to use up 3 very ripe bananas I had.
I'm so glad I found it and will continue using it :)
3. Check out this super cute play kitchen that Megan from My Kind of Makeover made...
It's Gorgeous! You really need to check out her blog to see what she made it out of!
I will be on the lookout at Goodwill for pieces of furniture to create something like this!
I've been wanting to buy my daughter a play kitchen but they are expensive!
Well the non plastic ones. I seriously would love to make her one before she turn 15! lol
4. How cool is this starburst mirror? Very cool!
(yeah I know I'm a dork I answer my own questions and laugh at my own jokes so what?)
Diane from In My Own Style made this super cool mirror...
I really want to make this! I have clothespins and I have a mirror with a broken frame
(thanks to my kids! ) so I really want to make this (before they break the mirror)
and hang it somewhere like maybe the guest room or my bedroom or the living room!
Hmm.. maybe I should just make 3!
5. And Last but not Least I am loving my Ray Ban Wayfarer Shades...
and guess what??!! I got them for FREE!! Yup you read that right Free!!
I think thats why I love them even more! :D I went with my mother in law
a couple months back to a LASIK consultation and the Doctor was giving away free
Ray Bans and the consultation was free too! :D yay!! (yes they are real! lol He's one of the best eye surgeons in American I read somewhere so I'm sure he can afford to give away Ray Bans)
So both my mother in law and I got free Ray Bans and she ended up getting catarat surgery
and I'm still waiting to get Lasik once I gather up enough courage money.
So there you have it these are my favorites for the week! :)
I have some projects I've been working on that I will post next week!
Don't forget to Like my FB page that you can find HERE.
I sometimes post pictures of things I've been working on and
such before posting about them here.
Hope You All have an Awesome Weekend!
