Catching Up

Hello Friends! Sorry I've been sort of MIA on the blog this week. If you follow me on instagram then you probably already know we were out of town all weekend long. We got back late Monday and I've been playing catch up since.

I will do my best to update you all on our bathroom remodel process with current pictures next week as well as post June's Freebie Friday so stay tuned. My son's last week of school is next week so I will be pretty busy this summer and will be blogging when I find the time. I want to focus on my kiddos and enjoy summer with them so if things seem quiet around here that is why but you can always find me on instagramWe aren't going anywhere this summer but I've got lots of stuff pinned on Pinterest for us to do. I might share them on my blog if I find the time. I will for sure be sharing our master bathroom reveal which I hope is done by the end of June. Oh and I also have an exciting giveaway planned for June! If you are expecting or have a baby you will want to check this out FOR SURE!

Do you have any fun summer plans?

Trendy Tots #4 - SwimZip

Happy Tuesday! Trendy Tots Tuesday to be exact! First of all I want to thank those of you who've been linking up with us. This is our fourth link-up and I'm just overwhelmed with the participation and lovely comments from you all. I absolutely LOVE doing this and I LOVE going through your posts and looking at pictures of your gorgeous kiddos! THANK YOU! <3

Summer is just around the corner. Actually here in Texas it already feels like summer! I am so glad that we partnered up with SwimZip this month! I actually watched Beth on Shark Tank and fell in love with her instantly. She's sweet, sincere and so dedicated. It truly shows in her work! She started this company after being diagnosed with skin cancer at the age of just 26. She is truly inspiring! SwimZip suits are VERY well made and not only are they cute they also provide excellent sun protection for your kiddos. You can feel at ease knowing they are well protected in their UPF 50+ swim wear. I really wanted to test out our new suits at the pool or the beach but things have been so busy here with our bathroom remodel and all that one afternoon I just decided to set the sprinkler in the backyard and have them run around. They LOVED it and I LOVED watching them...
As you can see they had a blast! They loved their new suits and I loved that they had sun protection! If you are thinking about purchasing some swim wear for your kiddos this summer or even if you already purchased something, I HIGHLY recommend SwimZip! You won't be disappointed! Plus you can never have too many swim suits am I right? I find their boy suits run pretty true to size but their girl suits run a tad bit big but I don't mind because that means Sarah can wear her suit again next year ;)

It's time for you to link up your Trendy Tot posts of the month! I'd love to see what your kiddos are wearing this spring/summer season. Remember the posts don't really have to be fashion related. ANY posts that include pictures of your kids are more than welcome. Also don't forget you are welcome to link up to THREE posts! Link up and enter to win a SwimZip suit of your choice!! PLEASE NOTE: You are more than welcome to enter our giveaway even if you don't link up. Linking up is an extra 10 entries but you can enter the giveaway either way! So enter and share! :)

Me Time

This is part of a sponsored campaign with Latina Mom Bloggers and the maker of Angel Soft®
However, all opinions expressed are my own.

Us mamas are always last, our family always comes first which means we hardly ever get "me time". However it is very important for us mamas to have "Me Time". You can't take care of your babies if you don't take care of yourself. Your kiddos deserve your best! Sure we are all busy and a trip to the restroom by yourself is pretty much a luxury sometimes so I want to share a couple ways I like to spend my "Me Time" and how it can include my kids.

ONE// Trying New Recipes
Now you may be asking yourself how cooking is considered "me time"? Well I don't always like to cook but when it comes to trying a new recipe I get super excited! I love following directions and creating something yummy my family and I can enjoy. It's my "me time" because I love it. I love being in the kitchen by myself working on a recipe from gathering the ingredients to serving it to eat. Just this weekend I tried a broccoli and cheese soup recipe that was so good!

TWO// Working Out
I NEVER used to work out. In fact I HATED it. Just a couple months ago I started working out and eating healthier and I've noticed a big difference not only physically but emotionally as well. I feel so good after a work out. I have tons of energy and I just feel good overall. Whether I run outside or work out at home. My work outs are my "me time" and I love it. I don't always work out alone, usually my kids are either joining me by doing jumping jacks or I'm pushing them in a jogging stroller outside. We spend time together and get some good exercise in. It's a win-win!

THREE// Shopping
If you know me personally then you already know how much I love to shop. I don't know what it is about it but I love it. I just feel so relaxed when I'm out browsing through isles and looking for something cute. I almost NEVER shop by myself and although it's not technically "me time" because I always have the kiddos with me, I still very much enjoy it. I found these super cute sandals at Marshall's just last week in the clearance section. I didn't even think it twice.

How do you like to spend your "me time"? If it's a trip to the restroom in peace then guess what? Angel Soft® is giving one of my readers a chance to win a 3 month supply of their new Angel Soft® with Fresh Lavender Scent bath tissue and a special gift. You can enter to win HERE. Giveaway ends May 21st.

Five on Friday - Favorite Places

Happy Friday! Today I'm sharing FIVE of my favorite places and what I love about them. Oh and this is NOT a sponsored post by the way! LOL I really love these places so much that I am blogging about them just because. Not that any of them would pay me to do it anyway...

ONE// Target
Who doesn't LOVE Target, right? I love it all. From the dollar section to the clearance sections. Target is my happy place. You can always find something. I have never left target empty handed. Ever. So when my husband tells me "let's just go look" I'd rather not. I'd rather stay home. I even bought my new iPhone at Target! I got a great Mother's Day deal. I love that you can use the Cartwheel app + The Target app to save some extra bucks. I have yet to get the Target Red Card. I always forget my blank check. Do you have the Red Card? Do you love it?
TWO// Chick-fil-a
My perfect day consists of a trip to Target and then lunch at Chick-fil-a and guess what? I have both of them about 5 miles away from my home. I don't ever want to move! lol I'm kidding...I think. I used to always get the same thing: #1 with lettuce and tomato (no cheese) large fries (with chick-fil-a sauce of course!) and a sweet tea. Ever since they came out with their new salads though I have a new favorite or favorites. I visit Chick-fil-a at least once a week. I love their Market + Cobb salads. I get one on one trip and then change it to the other on the next. I still get my large fries and chick-fil-a sauce though. It's not a good lunch without them.
THREE// IKEA
If you've ever been to my house then you know I love IKEA. It's everywhere! From my dishes to my frames. I love Ikea and just like Target I can't go in without coming out with something. The AS IS section is my fave! I have an IKEA pretty close by but I don't go often because that means trouble for the wallet and trouble with the hubby. lol I'm thinking of making a trip to IKEA soon though so I can purchase a couple goodies for our bathroom remodel.
FOUR// Whole Foods
Oh I love Whole Foods! We used to go every week and then our HEB started carrying tons more organic for a cheaper price but I still love Whole Foods. I love walking in there because everything is so pretty! Plus their food is SO GOOD! I don't go often but when I do I feel good except when I'm at the register getting my total. lol I still love you Whole Foods!
FIVE// H&M
I've also got an H&M nearby that I visit about once in a blue moon because just like all the others I want to buy it all. I love H&M and their awesome prices. They've got such cute + trendy clothes for the whole family at an affordable price.

That's it! What are your favorite places?

Five Basic Potty Training Tips

This post is a compensated campaign/sponsored post in collaboration with Pull-Ups® Training Pants and Latina Bloggers Connect but all opinions are my own.
Potty training is an exciting milestone, but often a long journey that takes commitment. It was one of the hardest things for me. I didn't have a very good experience with my first (Joshua), I started potty training him WAY before he was ready. There is so much I didn't know that I wish I would have researched. Thankfully things went so much smoother with #2 (Sarah) because I followed her leads. Levi just turned one and I feel so much more relaxed now and ready for when his time comes. I shared that I went to Houston a couple weeks ago for a Huggies Pull-Ups Luncheon and how I learned so many tips from lots of wonderful ladies. I'm sharing my own tips along with some I learned from our luncheon with you all today.

ONE | TIMING
There is no perfect age or time to begin the potty training process. Potty train your child when he/she is ready. This is the biggest mistake I committed with my first. I began the potty training process when Joshua turned two because that was "the perfect" age and most moms I knew were either potty training their kiddos at age two or were already done. Let me tell you that just because little Timmy or Sally is two and already potty trained doesn't mean your child is ready or needs to be. If you potty train your child before he/she is ready you might scare him/her off and they will have a negative concept of the whole thing. This happened to me with Josh. It took a WHOLE YEAR to finally get him potty trained. I didn't even stress it with Sarah. I bought her a potty and told her that she was a big girl and that it would be sitting there when she was ready and felt she needed to use it. Things went SO MUCH smoother. I felt so much more relaxed. So keep an eye on your kiddo and look for their cues and potty training should go a lot smoother. Not sure whether you kiddo is ready? You can use Pull-Ups Readiness Test and it will help you determine whether it's time to potty train or whether you should wait a little longer.

TWO | EQUIPMENT
Make sure you have the right tools to begin your potty training process. Number one of course is a potty. Sure a simple potty will do but if it's got features like a flushing noise or a cute design (cars, princesses, etc..) then they're more likely to use it. The other tool you need are training pants. Huggies Pull-Ups are the best! We used these for both Josh + Sarah. Pull-ups have stretchy sides that allow your child to learn the skill up pulling up and down. They also have these cool cartoons on them. I used to buy ones that have a cooling sensation when you have an accident in your training pants. You can also find a big kid prep list on the Pull-Ups website.

THREE | ENCOURAGING WORDS
If your kiddo has an accident make sure to reassure them that mistakes happen and it's OK but we need to try again. You don't want to yell at your child and freak them out or else they won't want to go again. Using encouraging and reassuring words will help your child want to continue even when he/she has an accident.

FOUR | LET EVERYONE KNOW
When you begin the potty training process it is good to let your family and friends know. Especially those who help watch your kiddo so that everyone is on board and encouraging your child in this new stage in their life. There's nothing worse that making progress at home and then having your kiddo regress because grandma didn't know he/she was being potty trained and put a diaper on your child.

FIVE | REWARDS AND CELEBRATING
Their first flush is something to celebrate! Your baby is growing up! Whether you have a special book to read when they're on the potty or create a song. It's nice to have something that will motivate them to want to be consistent. We had a book that we loved and always kept right next to the potty to read when it was time to go. Once your kiddo goes then celebrate! Sing a little song, do a little dance or a simple high five will encourage them along the way. There are all kind of reward systems for potty training. One that worked very well for us was the sticker chart. You create a chart and then place a sticker on the day of the week for every time they use the potty. If your child goes at least once each day, they can pick out a prize at the end of the week. Pull-ups has a great free personalized printable chart that you can create here.

Potty training can be hard but when you see your child going all by themself it will all be worth it. Plus you don't have to spend anymore money on diapers! Hooray! I hope these tips are helpful for those of you who are either going to begin your potty training journey or have already begun but have had a hard time. You can find a lot more info and tips on the Pull-Ups Website. They have a lot of great resources that will help your process go so much smoother.

Bathroom Updates + A Project Fail

I posted a photo on instagram on Sunday of me helping my husband cut our bathroom mirror to frame it. Well things didn't go so well... the mirror accidentally broke while we were trying to cut it (boo!) We still want a framed mirror for our bathroom so we are thinking of just buying a piece of glass that is the exact measurement we need and then frame it.

The good news is, last week we had someone come and do the framing for our bench seat and half wall and last night a friend came over and did all of the plumbing. This is where our rain shower will go in between the lighting.
We will also have a regular shower on the wall...
Things are progressing slowly but surely. Our next step is tile. I just want it all to be done already but like anything in life, it requires time and patience.

A Fresh Start with NEW Angel Soft® with Fresh Lavender Scent

This is part of a sponsored campaign with Latina Mom Bloggers and the maker of Angel Soft®
However, all opinions expressed are my own.

I like smelling pretty things don't you? When I wake up to use the restroom each morning the last thing I want to smell is old diapers or worse #1 or #2 leftover in the potty from the day before. I know... gross but it's very real. Especially when you have kids and they forget to flush. Well let me tell you, I am so glad Angel Soft® sent me their new Bath Tissue with Fresh Lavender Scent! My doorbell rang and I found a box that smelled like heaven. You could smell the Lavender through the box people! I opened it up and it instantly made my day. It's funny the things that us moms get excited over sometimes. Sure it's toilet paper but not only that! It's a way to make my restrooms smell CLEAN. My husband can come home and smell the freshness and think I've spent the past couple of hours cleaning.

Angel Soft® with Fresh Lavender Scent has all the softness you want and strength you need - with the added touch of lavender scent in every roll. It’s the same Angel Soft® you know and love, now with the fresh scent of lavender. The scent is actually in the tube, not the tissue. So it's like a free air freshener for your bathroom. I mean you're already buying toilet paper right? Well this one comes with a scent that will leave your entire bathroom smelling FRESH. Win-Win! I added a couple rolls to our hallway bathroom...
It made our restroom smell so good, I would walk in there just to smell it. Weird I know!

Angel Soft sent me a nice personalized robe, a candle and a mug which my husband ended up breaking by accident. No worries though I still have my robe...
If I didn't convince you to try Angel Soft® with Fresh Lavender Scent by now, then I don't know what will. Oh wait yes I do! How about a giveaway? Yes the kind folks from Angel Soft® are giving one of my lucky readers a 3 month supply of Angel Soft® with Fresh Lavender Scent bath tissue and a special gift (min of $25 value). So make sure to enter, that way you won't need to worry about buying toilet paper for a couple months PLUS your bathrooms will be smelling so good your husband will think you just cleaned ;)

I'm Doing Ok - An Interview with my Kids

This post is a compensated campaign/sponsored post in collaboration
with JOHNSON’S® Baby and Latina Bloggers Connect

Mother's day is just around the corner. As a mom of three I have had my fair share of "Am I a good mom?" or "Am I doing ok?" questions here and there. As I'm sure all moms have.

I teared up after watching JOHNSON’S® Baby “You’re Doing OK, Mom” videoIt's so nice to hear your kids tell you and show you that they love you isn't it? It's nice to be reassured that you are doing ok. Sure you've made mistakes, who hasn't? But you are doing your best and your kiddos appreciate it, whether they tell you or not.

I decided to interview my kiddos... well except for Levi because well he doesn't really talk much yet but I asked Josh and Sarah three simple questions and it was so nice to hear their responses. Short and sweet.

What is mom great at?
Making food for us and taking care of us.

What is your favorite thing about mom?
That she takes care of us.

What is your favorite thing to do with mom?
Play games and making us laugh.

Mom's Note
Joshua has a sweet and sensitive side. He will randomly pick flowers and give them to me. He also writes me little notes and draws me pictures. This little guy will make a great husband someday ;)

What is mom great at?
At working and cooking.

What is your favorite thing about mom?
When you play with me and that you are my best friend.

What is your favorite thing to do with mom?
Craft and sing.

Mom's Note
Sarah is my sweetheart. She calls me "best friend" every single day. She will randomly come hug me and tell me she loves me. She also loves drawing pictures and picking flowers for me which I'm sure she learned from her big brother.

Mom's Note
Levi doesn't really talk yet except for a few couple of words (mommy, dada, ten [here in spanish], more, all done and thank you) but he let's me know I'm doing ok with his super tight hugs and sloppy kisses. I'll take those any day!

I love my kids! I may not be the perfect mom, I stress out easily sometimes and end up yelling at them and then regretting it but I am so grateful for each of them. They make me want to be a better mom. They make me want to be a better person in general. Having kids is really life changing. It's a blessing. It's the greatest joy and also the greatest responsibility. One I don't want to take for granted.

I love you Josh, Sarah and Levi!
Thank you for letting me know that I am doing OK <3

Huggies Pull-Ups Luncheon in Houston

This post is a compensated campaign/sponsored post in collaboration with Pull-Ups® Training Pants and Latina Bloggers Connect but all opinions are my own.
If you follow me on instagram then I'm sure you already know that I was in Houston this past Sunday. I shared a couple pictures there but today I'm flooding you with a lot more. I was invited by Latina Bloggers Connect + Huggies Pull-ups for a bloggers luncheon at Churrascos on Sunday. My awesome parents watched all three of our kiddos and the hubby and I took a little road trip which was very nice. This was my very first bloggers met-up and I was pretty nervous. I am kinda shy believe it or not but I'm so glad I went. Not only was it a learning experience I also had a great time meeting a couple Latina Houston bloggers and our beautiful Host Jeannette Kaplun...
I actually googled Jeanette before the luncheon just so I knew who she was and what she looked like. I also started following her on instagram (totally not stalker-ish). Jeanette was super sweet in person! She made all of us feel very welcome and was genuine and kind. We couldn't have asked for a better host. I guess I was so excited to be there and meet her that I kinda talked her ear off ;)
haha look at my face in this picture...
We all introduced ourselves and our blogs. I was so nervous when it came to be my turn that I think I just rambled through it all because I don't even remember what I said! lol
It was great listening to the other bloggers and hearing their potty training stories, tips and advice. I guess you could say I'm an experienced mama because I have three kiddos yet I learned so much just by listening to these ladies. There is just so much you forget even when you've previously had kids and it's so good to be reminded of the errors and triumphs one makes when potty training.
Oh and the food? The food was delicious of course!
and no blogger get-together is complete without some social media.
I tweeted and instagramed through it all of course...
Oh and you know we got a group selfie! #selfie
We all got to take home a basket full of goodies (Pull-Ups) and a potty.
I'm all set for when our potty training time comes with Levi...
I had a great time! I learned so much, I can't wait to share it all with you soon. I'll be sharing some potty training tips on the blog next week so keep an eye out for that especially if you are currently in the potty training process. You are not alone!
