Hello Cinsarah readers! My name is Leah and I am psyched to be here as this is my first Guest Post and I love Cindy's blog.
Talk about talent! Her blog designs are awesome and she herself is a lovely woman.
When she gave me the opportunity to guest post, I racked my brain on what I would talk about. My blog My Skinny Tale focuses on fitness and healthy eating, but I feature and love style too. Which girl doesn't - right?
Raise your hand if your personal style has gone missing since motherhood took over?
I'm waving my hand dramatically over here if you must know.
Homework, preparing healthy meals, and kid friendly crafts have seem to have taken over and looking cute and sassy for our sake, has been put in the back burner.
All those things should still remain a top priority, but doing things for us mommas is also important.
I mean if momma looks good then everyone's happy. Oh, that's not how the saying goes? oops.
But moving on...
Now, I am no Stacy Clinton - you know - 'shut the front door!' Stacy, but I am starting to put more effort into learning how to look chic while still being a mom.
So I 've compiled what every momma should incorporate into her wardrobe to be the best dressed at that PTO meeting or while grocery shopping. You might be mistaken for a local celebrity - who knows!
Comfort in Color
Wearing heels to the store while juggling three kiddos is not your thing? Yeah, mine either.
Instead, do invest in flats that are not only comfortable, but that can add a pop of color to your wardrobe.
Manageable Accessories
Accessories can make an outfit, and when managing mommy activities, simplicity is best.
Try slapping on a nice watch that makes a statement with a pretty scarf and you'll have a brand new look.
Layering
If you don't own many accessories, try the alternative of giving an outfit a new look by layering.
For a good while I stayed away from cardigans because I felt grandma-ish...but I love it now.
A basic tee underneath with a belted cardigan goes a long way.
There you have it lovelies. My take on what every momma should have in their wardrobe to feel and look more chic.
I tell ya, the first day that I decided to layer and accessorize after wearing nothing but sandals and jeans for several weeks, my five year old said: 'Mommy, you look so fancy!'
Geez, I must have been looking pretty run down before!
Now why don't you all go visit my little corner of this amazing blog sphere and say hi - I'd love to meet you all!

Thanks so much girl! I love these tips! I already love flats but don't have many in different colors which means I need to go shopping!! This entire post makes me want to go shopping! Which I LOVE! :)

thanks again Cindy! The flats you got from TOMS are perfect and pretty - so you've already started! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this! I dress up for work, so I feel like I schlump around in sweats any time I'm not......:( My non-work wardrobe needs some help. Sigh. This will help!
